Freezing Temperatures

More than two days passed and still, nothing was found. The job became more difficult as time went on, since the snow was continuing to fall and the freezing temperatures turned the snow into ice which made it increasingly hard to navigate.

Those who did survive avalanche were taken to hospital in Pescara. There, they received treatment for injuries related to hypothermia. One survivor was also treated for a compression injury to his upper arm.
