8. The Woods

The woods seemed to echo around him as he walked. Though Adam, a bit of an adventurer, had hiked through many forests, this one seemed darker and denser than normal. Though it was a brisk day out, he was sweating almost immediately after he got out of the car.

Thoughts of turning back ran through his mind as he walked. No one would know if he chose to abandon this task. The courts would never ask. 

It would be as easy as getting back in the car. Despite these thoughts, Adam went forward.
