Changing Wedding Vows
Diana was the first ever bride in royal history who went against the royal protocol with her royal wedding vows. Royal brides are supposed to read the traditional royal vows. In the vow, it says “…to love and to cherish, and to obey, ’til death do us part.”

However, when Princess Diana recited her wedding vow, she got rid of the word obey. This was so controversial that it even made the headlines. Duchess Kate and Prince William followed suit when they got married in 2011.
