From 1993 to 2001, the X Files was one of the most popular sci-fi programs in the 1990s. A four-door Ford Torino was featured on the show in 1973. However, there were many others. The X-Files featured the Ford Torino in The Big Lebowski, but in a more prominent role.

The star Jeff Bridges drove the car, even though it was destroyed in The X-Files. Bridges drove the Torino in The Big Lebowski. The other car was destroyed during the production of the car-park fight scene.
